Hi everyone, I'm going to be building a 66" x 24" x 36" plywood tank. It'll be 36" tall, but the GARF website doesn't recommend it. It should be fine though if I just do some bracing outside of the plywood, right? Would 3/8" glass suffice or should I get 1/2"?

3/8'' would shatter before the tank was filled, 1/2'' would be very risky, 5/8'' is more suitable, the height is the issue, flip the dimentions so the tank is 24'' high and 36'' deep, same water volume, far more real estate, far less required glass thickness.

There's another one with a whole lot of math to it too. But if you don't need the height...do like Volenti said and flip it.
