DIY Tank help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Can not say for sure what the life limit of it is because I had to take it down after only a few months, but I used fermica to waterproof the inside of my 600g plywood tank and it worked great for the time I had it. I used silicone to seal the corners and the viewing window. I never found any definitive information on the long term permeability of fermica continuously exposed to water but when I took it down I broke the fermica to see if it had any water under it and there was none.

I just built a plywood tank with Wetsuit, here is the link to my build.

It is very easy to work with and you can use it indoors because there are no harmful fumes. If you are planning to build the tank inside (because you are going to big to fit through a door) than this stuff is ideal. I am in close contact with the owner of this product and can probably answer (or get answers) to any questions you might have.

It is very well priced when comparing to some of the other options and far more user friendly than many of the other options. Only downfall is that it only comes in black. I have worked with epoxy and fiberglass and they definitely have there benefits, but when all things are considered, Wetsuit is my #1 choice. I am going to build a 2000g tank when I move this spring/summer and will be using Wetsuit on that.

Just let me know if you have any questions about it.

I was reading part of your build thread... sounds good so far, I haven't gotten through it all yet, but what is the website for the wetsuit?
