I've seen some 3D renders for DIY tanks on here and I'm curious as to what program you guys are using. My uncle and I are planning on starting to offer custom tank stands through his cabinetry business and I would like to have some ideas made up for him when I move down to FL (which will be in August). Obviously the more inexpensive the program, the better.

Also, I'll keep everyone informed as to when the stands will be available, what pricing will be like, and all of the other little specs. Keep in mind these will be semi to fully custom, so we can do a lot of different wood types, finishes, dimensions, etc.

Thanks!

Most use Google Sketchup

Thanks, Pharaoh. I'll check that out. Can you do different things with the actual woodwork? Or is it basically just blocks?

Also, if anyone is interested in seeing a prototype, send me a PM.

i third google sketchup it is great for designing lots of stuff and works very much like microsoft paint. also the free version is a full version not a trial it just does not have some of the features that the pro version has.

Thanks guys! My uncle runs a company called Cabinetry Masters and wants to open a tank/stand division for me to put some work into. He also loves fish and loves building tanks and stands. You can see the 55g stand he built years ago in my pictures. If you'd like to see a portfolio of his work, you can go here (http://www.cabinetrymasters.com/). We plan on catering to any size tank, and any sort of budget (within reason). We will be offering almost endless options such as design, materials, stains, colors, etc.
