Building a glass tank with wood bottom very much like uaru joey 6x6 tank. However I'm my footprint is 6x4.

In his video he pond armors the base then puts the glass up. I was thinking of putting the glass up and laying the pond armor. now I understand that the glass should always be on top of the bottom plate but it still will be technically.

Does anyone see a problem doing it this way?

That's a bad idea. Then the edge of the epoxy will be the adhering surface.. it'll be more vulnerable to peeling off. Versus it stretching underneath the glass, the glass pushing down on the epoxy and then the sealing surface will be offset from the its adhering edge by the thickness of that glass.

What would be the benefit to doing it this way? I think that it would most likely leak.

I'm not understanding why you want to do it this way. I'm about to assemble a 6x6 of the same design, so am very interested in oprions.

I felt it would be easier to do this way. That was the real only benefit.

I think your looking for problems. The silicone will have more flexability then the pond armor. I think you would be more likely to have water get between where the pond armor, silicone and glass meet. Then you will have the water going to work on the wood.
