DIY tank sealing question

Realistically the only difference is the silicon adhering to the wood vs the pond armor for the structural silicon (not the seal) the silicon for the seal would still be glass to pond armor. The only drawback I see is IF it leaks. It will leak onto wood instead of pond armor. But if it springs a leak I really wouldn't care much about the wood Bottom lol

So I guess what my actual question is. How well does silicon stick to wood?

it does stick to wood, but let say you do it the way you want..and the inside bottom silicone seal tears a little..which it will over time..it will soak into the wood, making the bottom piece of your tank un-usable because it may warp or turn to mush, or expand... If you put the pond armor on the wood bottom first..this will give the added protection against the things I mentioned if you did not seal it with pond armor in the event of an inside seam tear. at least with the pod armor done first, and you had a tear, you could just drain the tank and reseal it like you would any glass tank.
