So I heard about DNA in fish.. Do we have a prototype DNA sample for all the fish we know of at a lab somewhere?

I know we can get it done for Dogs.

I wanna make a drive with my fish to a cool shady place with water and grass around where there's a tea shop, on the spot . and get DNA testing for my fish.

I hope to know more about it like how deep we can look into the fish's Genetics. Then it will finally get clearer and more legit. Then ppl can actualy know what that badazz fish they own but dont know the pedigree as a FACT.

For example this fish.. Or how do U know if you have a Chancho or a Barred Midas or and Red Isletas, or amarillo ect.

So. Are there local Places for this in all states? If so what are they called? Thanks !!

Or Do I need to contact Maury Povich?

I had a Red Isletas from Rapps a while back and some said it was just a Barred Midas... I would have liked to know for a FACT if it was a different species or not. Also, I see Rapps has some new wild Barred Midas with red on the throat, belly and sides... Ampilophus Citrinellus "Siquirres". They look nice...

I highly doubt Rapps mislabeled a fish. For as long as I have known about Jeff I never seen a mislabeled fish come from him.

I would love to DNA test some of the old fish I had. I had got a barred Midas a while back and was confused to what it was for a while.

Jeff def didn't mislabel them... they were 100% Red Isletas... I just would of liked to know if a Barred Midas and a Red Isletas are 100% a different species or just a variant of Citrinellus...

Here are a few old pics of my "Red Isletas" for reference...

that looks like a Red head Isletas. You see the red rusty skin at the head area Hence "red head" Isletas. But Im no DNA testing

Also, a short while back was there not an issue with Melenurus and Synspillum?? Didn't someone decide they are one in the same now... or just one or the other?? Sorry I'm all over this thread... I'll let others speak now, lol.
