i was wondering if there are any 8ft lights that are one unit because I want to light my 8ft tank and I don't want to use two 4ft lights and I cant seem to find any sign of an 8ft light. ive heard of them before just haven't seen them around.

I dont think you will find any, and I would bet that the 4 foot lights would cost far far less. If you are looking for a cheap setup try finding some normal twist florecent bulbs in the 6500K range, I buy them at costco wire them up and they are as cheap as can be,

Just make your own setup using floodlights or LEDs.

Its pretty easy to make a box to hook them to and just hook them up to a strip that leads to an outlet.

There are 8' shop lights. You can find them at Menard's.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

I've got a set of 2 lamp, T12, 8 footers In my garage. they're old, but I'd be happy to trade for two 2 lamp, T5HO light fixtures.
