State of chaos
I was wondering if all lfs and chain stores that everyone goes to do this...?

Over the summer, when I bought my Newts, I had to sign a piece of paper with my full name and address. Same yesterday, when I bought my Leopard Gecko. No such procedure when I bought my Snake, but that wasn't at a chain store. Does anyone else have to do this at their lfs? Why exactly do they ddo this?...Why does buying a Gecko or a Newt require the pet store to have my address written?...

It's a Petland in Bay Ridge :)
Not the best or the healthiest stock, but I go in there often, and I'm treated very well there as a regular customer. :D

I used to work at petsmart, and they do it there. it is to cover you and the store. You get a whatever day gaurentee, and the store gets a contract with your name on it saying you know the responsibilities and such. Plus every joe schmo can't just bring an animal back in and say they bought it there without a contract

Its completely useless. I had to do it when i worked at petco and obviously no one wants to give out their info. No one ever remembered it when a problem did arise and it didn't even matter because a regular receipt will have a date on it.

14-day guarantee, but this is correct.

They made me do that at Petsmart when I got my pacman frog.. I like the way expos do it, you give them the money and they give you the herp, no taxes and no questions asked.

I prefer this too, and the prices are way way less than any pet smart or other chain store not to mention, they are frequently in better health and with more knowledgeable people.

around here its a licensed agreement sayng that your animal is legal and that you understands the terms of the sale
