this is the answer what i get in yahoo answer.
1 of them said : "No it actually might just make it worse. Bettas have very little tolerance to salt. If there's an infection, you should use something like melafix that you can get at your local fish store or walmart. Otherwise, just keep doing partial water changes and testing the water regularly. You might want to separate the betta from the other fish (get a tank divider or a separate tank all together) and the damaged fins will heal on their own. It might take weeks or even months to fully heal. Good luck"

it this true?

but i found some website said melafix is toxin for bettas fish.
WHAT can i do with this damage fin bettas?
I NEED HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yahoo Answers... *snickers*

Melafix can suffocate your fish. Your fish has to breathe. Forget that Melafix crap. Even if it helps accelerate the recovery rate of damaged fins, the concentration does prove lethal to all anabantoids.

Stick to salt. A lot of bettas are already domesticated and adapt readily to various water conditions so I do not believe that the osmotic balance becomes compromised to bettas that have adapted well to hard alkaline water so using salt is not really an issue for that. You do need to keep water well aerated as salt reduces oxygen level. While bettas can breathe from then surface, aiding their respiration at this point will help reduce their stress levels.

what is the cheapest price for aquarium salt?

We use the aquarium salt to prevent parasites. I'd say if you take good care of your bettas though, adding salt to prevent parasites is still stressful to the fish and in good care they should not get any parasites.

Sorry, but salt won't prevent parasites.

Conclusion, salt can add to the damage fin bettas to help it to regenerate?

Yes you could add a bit, but the most important thing to help it heal is CLEAN water in a low stress environment.
