I have azuls that have red color in their fins. I've noticed the same in other people's posts as well.
At the same time I've seen azuls that don't have red at all. Only blue and silver color.

My question is do they loose the red when they grow bigger? Does it fade away giving prominence to blue? If so at what size? Azuls are all about blue isn't it, I would prefer not to have reds in them actually.

I believe collection point plays a role in this, the azuls I picked up never had red in the fins. But I will let some other more experienced cichla guys answer this. I am a rookie cichla keeper

Thank you very much for the pictures isde. It is cool how the red anal fin has turned in to blue with time. Even the tail seems to have lost most of its red and turning blue now. I guess it is waiting and enjoying the changes.
