And when they get really big/old they lose a lot of their blue color too except for the fins

Yeah, I think you are right. The pictures CJ posted in media lounge a few days ago with title "some of my favorites" shows some amazing azuls similar to what you've posted here. What size is your azul brich? What color is it actually to the naked eye, a brown or a golden color?
