Do bichirs just have weird growth rates?

My Sen I got at 3" in July and Now is 11.5" My Endli was 1.5" in July and is Now 12". My Del was 3" in October and is now 6" as you can see it varies greatly

On the LFS thing, I've noticed that both my LFS and the local chain stores keep their tanks especially low. None have a thermometer visible but you can feel the chill of the water through the bag and even through the tank. The temps probably do as much to stunt the growth as the light feedings do.

The two things go hand in hand, lower temps reduce metabolism and allow for less feeding to keep the fish alive.

Not trying to paint LFS in a negative fashion nessasarily. It makes sense on some levels for them to manage their stock.
