Do clown knifes sleep?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Clown Knives are noctural so they don't sleep at night really. They can be active during the day, especially during feeding time. If given a hiding spot, they will be in there for most of the day doing who knows what. They could be sleeping during that time. I hear a lot of fish rest half their brain at a time. That is how they "sleep." It wouldn't surprise me if the Clown Knives sleep like this.

My guys definately sleep. Sometimes they hover near the bottom, but other times they actually lie on the bottom. They used to be very active at night but as they have gotten older thy are less so. My little CK (14") freaks out at night if you wake him up. He darts around the tank swimming into things and even the glass sometimes. He only does this when he is sleeping at night. During the day if I wake him he is like the others and just swims to the side of the tank where I am.
