i want to get a few cory cats for my 20 gallon, it will have zebra danios and about 15 fancy guppies. I also have a chinese algae eater in there, but im giving him to a friend. Once i get all of my guppies at the end of june i will buy about 5-6 cory cats. my petsmart had tons of different kinds for sale there. so for my question do they do a good job on cleaning the gravel and cleaning up bits of food and algae? i want to get a bristlenose pleco but i thought a school of cories would look a lot cooler.

Corys do a great job at cleaning up all of the extra scraps of food. They don't do algae though. So if you wanted just get a dwarf bristlenose and he should take care of that.

Like honda said theyre great for eating food that hits the bottom but dont do algae. With all those guppies and danios in there 6 cories might be a little stuffed, maybe a bn would be better lots of colors and patterns around if you do some searching

ok any other names that bristlenose are called to look for, what about the rubbernose or whatever they are called? any other bottom feeders i should consider that arent agressive or wont eat my fish's slime?

Albino Bristlenose are pretty cool. Get to about 4 or 5 inches I believe. I've got three but they are only 2 inches right now. Corys do do a great job on the bottom though.

Rubbernose do well in a tank that is a bit cooler like the low 70's so if that is around the temp of your tank one migh make a good addition. If you have adaquite filtration the cory should still be fine. The guppy all stay on top and corys on bottom.

thanks honda thats what i was thinking. because the guppies stay towards the top the danios stay in the middle and the cories stay on the bottom. what are some nice colored cory cats that i should get. does anyone have some pictures of some adult cories with something for size reference. i have 3 albinos right now but i want three more.

I keep them in any tank that I can.

There are many out there that are nice but I will find a few pics of ones I like.
