right now i give them hikari cichlid gold twice a day, then before bed i crumble up some freeze dried krill and throw it in there, they love it theyre so competitive, i guess im gonna start letting them hit some crickets once in a wile, so how should i gut load em and for how long?

Crickets are about 65% protein, 14% fat, some ash (6%) and phosphorus (1%), but very minimal vitamins. The fat content is a little too high for them to be used too often, but since they can be gut loaded with lots of nutritional things, and they are very attractive meals to many fish, it's well worth the effort to keep them as a periodic treat.

Gut load them with veggies, fruit, spirulina flakes, etc. and they become a tasty nutritious treat.

I usually feed the crickets carrorts before thye go swimming.
