I recently bought 2 EBJDs and noticed they were kinda pale with the lights on ( i have pics in my albums) but when the lights are off in the tank they are just simply amazing IMO... please help me with this as I have started feeding them color enhancers just to make them pretty lol

They should get brighter as they grow. Getting to a max of 10". That is just what i am told from a friend of mine that knows a breeder. The breeder has 2 Pairs and one of the males is 10" with tons of color.(From what ive been told).

yes, but you can help the color out a lot by doing water changes and feed a variety diet.

i find flowerhorn pellet the best.... never tried sumo tho.. its too expensive.. but i do feed my EBJD flowerhorn pellet...

the parrots are gone... if you read the desc i traded the parrots in towards the EBJDs =)

Sounds to me like all you need are different lights... You can get slightly blue tinted lights to make the colors look even better.

They could be still getting acclimated to the tank. They will ge used to the lights, id say as long as they are not hiding when the lights come on then you should be fine, Just give them time. Also light colored gravel can wash them out as well.

^ I don't know if that was directed towards me a little, but I meant get lights that better represent their colors. Not that they're scared of the lights.
