Do Egg Spots Mean Male?

Hello--

I have several juvenile cichlids with egg spots on their anal fin and I was wondering if I can tell if they are male without looking at their vents?

i have over 200 African Cichlid's some of my females have them some dont,but I've seen the same female get there egg-spots on when they find a male they like to breed with,,,, 90% if not more have egg-spots,,,

no, both male and female have egg spots. I have a female that I swore was a male, until about 1 week ago, when I found eggs in its mouth. some of them are tricky to sex. good luck though!
