Do fin tears heal or grow back?

I agree, seldom does a tail not heal its self. As long as it was damaged by another fish, and not the case of fin-rot, then I don't see why it wouldn't. But if it is seriously shredded, it may never fully recover symetrically, and if a secondary infection takes hold, it might also leave some scarring. Just make sure while your fish is healing that your water quality is great, and that the "bully" who sampled your little guy is not still bothering him while he is healing.:)

A fin membrane tear heals fast, sometimes within days on some fish if its realy bad you can Also add 0.3% salt (if snakehead don't)and acraflavine or MelaFix As Water baby said "As long as it was damaged by another fish, and not the case of fin-rot" it will grow back as long as the very base of the fin/tail is not damaged this is the only time it will not.

Fin tears heal 99% of the time, sometimes it can be slow, if say a fish is constantly going after it.

yap.. in a matter of one or two day...:)

no i mean my little guy lost it all he had a bad wound lost alot of meat on the back end too his tail will probally not grow back my water is perfect and it does not grow well i guess a little thread grew back but thats it

It should heal back, but it will take a long time. Is it in a tank where it won't get picked on more?? The fin won't quite look the same, but it will grow back, providing the fish lives.

it will take a long time. should take less long (worst grammer ever) if its longer
