Looking at the picture of your severum. Are you sure that he is not a she? 2 days ago I saw the same bump on my fishes bum and ran to the nearest LFS for meds. Hours later...the fish was laying eggs.

Looks like fish hemrohoids And yes fish fart. I was watching my fish eat one day and saw some bubbles come from my big Front followed by a little turd. I died laughing!

Try pulling you fish's fin and see if it farts Seriously, I've never seen my fish fart but I have seen poop floating at the top of my tank with an air bubble in it.
