Just because a fish stop eating and acting off doesn't mean poor water parameters/condition was the definitive culprit.
I didn't think so... My parameters were 0,0,5 with ph 7.2... I think that's pretty spot on.... And that was before my water change... Hence why I was thinking it could have been the fact no one was around etc, given he begs really frequently and moves around a lot when I'm here.
I know that some point over the next week I'm going to get an ammonia spike (emergency filter maintenance as clogged with sand) so I'll see if he goes back to his previous behaviour
