Do fish smell or hear?

I would say yes because the majority of all living things have all 5 senses. And since fish certain fish will only eat certain things, for example my BGKF refuses eveything but beef heart, and blooms (ive tried tubifex worms but he hates them so i feed those to my ropefish and peacock eel). I guess that he can recognize the food by the smell and then will eat it and if he didn't like it (tubufex worms) he will spit it out. Also I do not think that fish have nostrils for no reason.

) The way I understood lateral lines is that it's just a place where normal nerve endings pile up.
