I have never added salt to mine and they are thriving well. Most of the sites I am on, most members do not add salt, but many do.

There is a certain type of African Cichlid salt that is purported to have some of the minerals that are found in Lake Tanganika that some stores carry.I used it years ago untill I learned that a lot of these African Cichlids are bred in Florida and I had no way of proving the claims on the label.KindredSpirit;3655044; said:I have never added salt to mine and they are thriving well.
