Do hybrids have any impact?

You will have hard core opinions on both side of this one. Most people keep more than one type of ray in their tank. Not for money but the different looks and attitudes. Eventually these will breed. I keep hybrids and I have pures. I enjoy both and when they have pups yes I will sell them but it's not for a living and all money will prolly end up back in the tank.

I enjoy the looks of both and will continue to keep both.

I had to bring this thread back, especially since I just got my wild caught male and female marbles that I have been waiting so patiently for!!!

But anyway, yeah I see people with different species of rays in one tank, but if youre gonna do that wouldnt it make since to get all males, of all females instead of letting them randomly breed?

Have no problem with Hybrids as long as it is stated up front when sold. There in lies the issue, as Zoodiver stated, there will be those that are driven solely by profit/money that won't care about any deception on lineage.

There is more of an issue with inbreeding I believe. I see many people who buy. multiple specimens (male and female) from the same breeder. And the breeder only has one or two females with a single male. When they should be purchasing from different breeders.
Unless you purchase from a breeder with multiple females amd males and tracks the lineage to know who is fathering the pups on each litter you dont know if they are siblings or not. Or purchase WC which is getting more scarce here in the states.
