you will get a lot more respect from Oddball Oddball if you speak to him in private, and keep it civil

I think T Thekid and Tig Phish Tig Phish hit the nail on the head for this thread - if you gotta ask that question, it may be the problem.....various members have tried to show the OP the right path but he just doesn't seem to understand and I gave up quite some time ago as it just started to feel like I had an annoying little Chihuahua constantly trying to hump my leg. I appreciate peoples' kinder sugar-coated responses however that hasn't worked for the rest of us and we have moved on to either being blatant and rude or simply using the "ignore-function" and saving our breath for people who actually need help w/ their fish or animals.

When it comes down to it, all and all - this talk about how you don't need everyone to like you and you'll never meet these people in person is besides the point of the reason many are here:

It's a fish forum you can come to learn and get help. The more people that enjoy your company, the more help you will get - people don't respond to the threads made by *expletive deleted* and his trusty sidekicks because they probably feel the way I do and it's more trouble than it's worth. I still do it from time to time, but the fact remains, I AM INDEED wasting my breath on much of it.

Keeep it civil and respectful and you will receive a lot more help when you ask for it.

Especially if you're a young person. Do more listening than talking. You were given two ears and one mouth for a reason. Be courteous to everyone. Treat everyone with respect. Think before you speak. Use your brain looking for the answer before you ask. (The Search function used to work amazing, even lately I can Google something and all the first matches are MFK, with a quick answer.)

If you do all that you're either gonna make a lot of really good friends, or learn a lot about other people and yourself. And either way you benefit.

That is the best lesson I learned as a chold is "you where given two ears and one mouth for a reason, you don't know everything and the only way to learn is to listen"
 
The best part of internet forums, not everyone needs to like one another and has the ability to not view their threads/posts. Why does anyone who has a problem with carp but seems compelled to read his threads???

I never agreed. That's friendship rape.

Be you. Never kiss anyone's butt. If you loath someone then loath someone. If you hate them, then hate them. Is a free country. Some people just suck. But no need to exclaim it. If you're changing who you are and what you feel or really think to appease anyone for any reason even just to not get reprimanded. You've already sold out.

Getting along with some people is hard. My "people I dislike" list is long. But keep it to yourself, and when you can't handle it anymore step away.

You can learn enough to be the best monster fish keeper in the world and never talk to anyone. The beauty of the internet.
