So this may not be even possible and you may call me a idiot, I don't know so I am asking. My JD and firemouth, I'm assuming the jd is a male and the firemouth is looking like a female. They don't leave eachothers side and the jd seems to turn around to make sure the firemouth is close by and she usually is. Will these guys even attempt in breeding or what? Is it possible? I do NOT want any goofy hybrids, so they will become food for my GT if anything.

They can pair up, possibly even lay eggs. But the eggs will most likely NOT hatch, which is a good thing.

Let them be together, they look happy. Don't ruin their relationship they look in love:hearts:lol

They are funny, it's kinda cute actually I'm just glad to see the firemouth out, she has hid ever since I brought her home!

I'm glad the firemouth enjoys her partner;), let them be together. Don't get rid of them, in fact keep us updated I would love to know how their doing.

But remember there is a chance their not mating at all, sometimes cichlids will stick together kind of like other pets such as dogs.

A fire mouth and a jd can pair!?

At the age of the jd could he even do anything even of he wanted to? He's maybe 2 inches or a bit more. I will keep you guys updated, just turned their light off lol they are begging for food
