I have a 200 gallon tank and I am currently running a Fluval FX5 and a Fluval 404 with a fluidized bed filter. I also have 2 powerheads with sponges attached to them. There is tons of circulation in the tank.

Is this too much? I know there is no such thing as too much...but what do you guys think?

What are your stocking levels?

In my opinion... with the FX5 and 404 is enough, no need for the 2 sponges. What type of fishes do you have in your 200? If they are REAL mellow peaceful fishes then i don't think you need those 2 powerheads and sponges, just takes up space. Since you already have tons of circulation already.

Sounds adequate but depends on your bioload. What fish do you have?

Just started stocking. Currently have 5 young Tropheus and a Callochromis. Will be placing an order for some more fish very soon.

I forgot to take into account the bioload. I want to overpopulate this thing sooo bad. HAHA. But I will definitely refrain.

+1!

But try to remember you have have lake fish in whats practically a river enviroment there.

It just depends, look at how hard they're finning to stay in place..

I personally would shut some off until you have the bioload that requires the extra filtration.
