Do I need more filtration?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
*** NEW PLAN ***

The 405 should arrive soon, in which I'll put the prefilter, biomax, biomax, and... biomax. The 305 will have prefilter, filter floss, and maybe carbon?

Basically, I've got two units now, one with four levels and one with three, and need to know how to arrange them. I was thinking one bio one mech? If so, which should be which, and what specifically do I put in each chamber???

So overwhelming...!

If you got 2 filters then I would use one for bio (so you can maintain it less and leave it longer) and the other for mech and chemical filtration like zeolite and carbon.
You need to change carbon and zeolite every couple of weeks, but if you running bio in the same filter you ende up disturbing it... so haveing one filter for mechanical filtration and picking up the pieces while treating the water makes sense... and the other for solid bio filtration. My 2p :)

*** UPDATE ***

405 running prefilter, carbon, biomax, and biomax.
305 running filter floss, biomax, polishing pads

I wanted to do, like, 405 for bio and the 305 for mechanical (chem if needed).
