I filled the bottom basket with prefilter (the ceramic blocky rings stuff the same stuff that poor guy filled his FX5 with) Its supposed to stir the water up or create jetties or something(I use it in my eheim classic) but I just thought it seems redundant given that the water just passed through a sponge right? Should I move my filter floss to the bottom basket and fill the other three with bio max? I got plenty of bio max sitting around...

anyone.........?

Even though it still goes through the sponge, I find that the pre-filter still helps trap debris that get by the sponge. But the filter floss does help with the same thing. Either way, it's fine.

Ill leave it I guess. Couldnt hurt. I dont run carbon in canisters it reduces the need to crack them open too often. And I got a 2215 with substrate pro 2 trays of bio max in the 404 and ofcourse the ac110 has the bio on top as well so im set for bio.
