what do you think?


The tank will be glass but the dividers will be acrylic with drilled holes. the filter box at the right side will have strips throught it for the water to pass (through filter media) to the pump which then sends the water through half inch pvc pipe. the water then comes out of two nipples over each divided area. the tank measures 30 inches long 11 inches wide and 10 high. what do you think?

Nice idea... But what are you going to put in it...?

And i did'nt understand how the filter is going to working..(the media and pump in such a tiny space)

I will put apistos in!!! 1 or two per divider
There wont be too much media just some floss, sponges etc.. maybe even carbon. i dont like bioballs much though. maybe i will include some though.
Anymore ideas???

i would drill more holes in the deviders. The space closest to the filter well be the cleanest out of the whole tank. the farthest from the filter will be the diriest. not to much cerculation in the tank. IMO.

yeah thats true too........hmmmm........I usually see it at a standard size but I wonder if he could order it with smaller square holes?

I suggest drilling more holes...over the entire divider..

The problem I encountered by too many holes is........the more you drill the flimsier it gets and has a tendency to snap/crack or split from the drills force.If you drill 4 holes on the corners and screw it into wood so it wont move and then drill drill drill you will have better luck with it not snapping etc.BUT-I did that in my 75 gal.and the plexi(acrylic)snapped in half once there was alotta holes

Put your filter design in the middle. So that the circulation back to the filter will be shorter. Also add ball valves on the return lines to regulate flow to each chamber to make them even. Make the middle chamber larger to make up for the volume that the filter takes up.---------------------------------Or just divide the tank and run 3 small HOB's and be done with it.
