i would drill more holes in the deviders. The space closest to the filter well be the cleanest out of the whole tank. the farthest from the filter will be the diriest. not to much cerculation in the tank. IMO.

There will be as many holes as i need, if there isnt enough i take the dividers out (they are not permanent) and drill more holes. the drawing was not exactly what it is going to be like. Wjat does IMO mean? sorry. that is true and i think i may put the filter in the middle. Apistogrammas dont need too much circulatation in the tank but i think there will be enough surface agitation. the pump isnt TOO weak

why not use eggcrate as didviders instead?

They are so ugly

no. then there wont be enough under current to carry debris.

The problem I encountered by too many holes is........the more you drill the flimsier it gets and has a tendency to snap/crack or split from the drills force.If you drill 4 holes on the corners and screw it into wood so it wont move and then drill drill drill you will have better luck with it not snapping etc.BUT-I did that in my 75 gal.and the plexi(acrylic)snapped in half once there was alotta holes

Put your filter design in the middle. So that the circulation back to the filter will be shorter. Also add ball valves on the return lines to regulate flow to each chamber to make them even. Make the middle chamber larger to make up for the volume that the filter takes up.---------------------------------Or just divide the tank and run 3 small HOB's and be done with it.

Thats ingenious!!! i will look into that. what are ball valves? i was thinking about it but i think i will just put the smallest fish in there. about seperate HOBs, that is out of the question. i barely have enough money for the tank alone i cant add another 75-90 dollars worth of equipment (filters are crazy expensive here). not to mention i hate HOBs i might get a larger pump eventually is i get some more $$$ but i already have the atman filter that i will use.

Multiple apistos. possibly breeding pairs but thats not probable

instead of that, put the filter box in the middle, but dont make it a filter, make in an overflow chamber down to a 10 gal wet/dry. all problems solved!

10 gallon tanks would only cost about 35 dollars in brazil... no thats not an option if i had another ten gallon i would use it for more apistos. even if i did do the wet/dry i still could only keep the same amount of apistos.

Do a general internet search for pvc ball valve or pvc valve. It is a valve that glues inline on the return pipes to the tanks and you can turn it to regulate the flow to each tank. You need these because the shortest return pipe will get the most flow from the pump. But when you put the valves on them you can tune the flow to be the same on all three compartments.
