I enjoy buying them small and watching them grow.

They change so much in terms of colour, behaviour, aggression et al that I want to see them at every stage of development. I can see the appeal of instant monster, but seeing them tiny and anticipating the monster they'll become is what keeps me checking the tank 10x a day, every day!

O
I could not have been more colorful in discribing growing out myself.

I like raising my monsters. Dogs included :)

I have a 6.5 year old Bulldog, named Bomber. He's a four legged Monster that smells, drools, and sleeps 23 hours of the day if he could that weighs 65LBS.

I like to buy small and watch them grow. The biggest fish i bought was 5x 5'' IT's......

I love the personality from month to month. The joy of fish keeping.

It depends on the fish for me..

Usually smaller is cheaper.. so i buy them as babies.. I have bought stuff that are big and adult size...

But i would prefer to grow out..

I like Juvies or Sub-adults generally. I like watching them grow, I rarely lose an adult i've home grown. If I can offer a good animal a good home I will in reguards to adults. Not just fish, I've taken in cats, dogs, horses over the years who needed a home asap.. and re-homed them. I'm alot pickier w/ adults then I am w/ juvies.

I grow all of my fish out.

i like to grow mine out. i take a little pride in doing that. plus, juveniles are always cheaper. i like saving money. i'm not into buying fish over $100. that's my maximum limit on price. i have purchased two $40 babies and one $60 baby. the rest usually cost no more than $15 or $20. some are even less.
