To me, a beak face ebjd is something I can't even look at because it is so ugly. Your's are great looking fish. No matter what anyone says, it all depends on what you think. They look healthy to me!

Thanks every one for the nice comments. I dont wanna speak to soon but keeping these fish is diffrent from what i hear about them. People say they are shy timid weak hard to feed and mine are none of that. I heard so many horror storys about these fish that i got 2 hopeing at least one making it to adult hood. I dont know maybe i got a good batch. i still sorta dont like second dempsey really.

I may have missed the sizes of your fish, and, as others have said, the beak sometimes doesn't become apparent until the fish get to be 3.5-4". Right now, I'd agree that the first looks ok, and that the second might be more questionable, but they're both fine. I've seen a LOT worse!

I don't see any signs of the beak in your EBJD. I have owned EBJD for about eight years now. I currently have 2 adults, 1 sub adult and 21 juvenile EBJD. Fortunately none are showing the beak. I bought a group of four about 2 years ago that all had the beak. At 2" it was very observable. Interestingly enough, all four died of unknown causes before reaching 3". I have never lost another EBJD before then or since.
