Do Oscar's Shed ? White Hairs floating after water change

My Oscars let go of some slime after water changes. May be as simple as that. As for the Oscars that refuse dry food, this should never happen! Oscars are notorious for excepting anything. If all they eat are feeders then they are spoiled and sooner or later will catch a disease from a ten cent Goldfish. Get them off the live feeders as soon as possible if you want to have them for the long haul.

ive tried but he will go weeks without anything! till i give in and feed him feeders but i have a tank of just feeders and leave a month b4 feeding him that

I understand that but you cant treat fish like people. Fish can go weeks and even months without a solid meal. They store their fat. Might want to try different dry food. Hikari Cichlid Excel has garlic in it. My most finnicky fish always give in to it and its bye bye live for ever. When your Oscar gets hungry he will give in. Try giving it whole, shelled uncooked Shrimp from the supermarket. The kind that come 25-30 a bag. The cheapest you can find. Its alot safer and will help em make the transition over to dry feed. Oscars stricly on live is insane and probably hard on your pocket.

i just found out he loves super worms lol=) and shrimp

he doesnt act stressed no reason for it either hes just spoiled and has hes own personality and thats it a brat! lmao!! not stress

Do you mean slimy body? this could be culumnaris it almost killed my Oscar! Are there any little tiny crechers on the glass that move? If so you got culumnaris!
