do peacock bass jump out of tanks?

He guys,
I like open tanks,
and i am planning to buy one.

I own a group of arowanas and i know that the will jump out of the tank for sure. but do peacock bass do that as well?

The tank is 70 cm high and im planning to fill it up to 60cm. ive heard that if u use surface plants in open tanks, fish have less tendency to jump out.

Is there anybody here who have kept pbass in an open aquarium?

all my aquariums have lids and hoods.. however having floating surface plants might make them less likely to jump, i still wouldnt risk it.. they hit their food pretty hard and ive seen fishing vids where the bass were jumping out of the water.. so they could easily jump out of your tank if they wanted to.

all my aquariums are open tops... i never had a problem but i have heard that they jump

From my personal experience my pbass did jump out, so I wouldn't risk it

ok.. time for another one of my stories.. lol.

when i was first researching pbass.. before i bought my first 3. i read several websites on proper care of peacock bass. so showed folks feeding pbass, most cautioned against keeping pbass in home aquaria. ALL of them either showed pbass that they had owned that had committed suicide or warned that peacock bass are known jumpers and to make sure whatever tank they are in is covered..

so.. yes.. peacock bass CAN and probably WILL jump out of an uncovered tank.

but i can understand that they'll jump when they get excited or nervous.
even when they eat they look like theyre going to jump.

thats interesting, maybe there is a explanation why in some tanks the pbass jump out (or its just total random).

Do the people who had pbass jumping out, have any floating decoration in there tanks, or maybe a bottom dweller, or a night active catfish in the tank? i think that that maybe the reason..

And same for the people ofcourse who didn't had any jumping pbass,
do u had any of these things metioned above in your tank which may incurrege the pbass to jump?
