thats interesting, maybe there is a explanation why in some tanks the pbass jump out (or its just total random).

Do the people who had pbass jumping out, have any floating decoration in there tanks, or maybe a bottom dweller, or a night active catfish in the tank? i think that that maybe the reason..

And same for the people ofcourse who didn't had any jumping pbass,
do u had any of these things metioned above in your tank which may incurrege the pbass to jump?

ive had pbass with active tankmates.
and they never jumped.

my pbass have been with all kinds of fish and all kinds of decorations.. and there really isn't any difference. never had one jump out of the tank. the ONLY fish i've ever had jump are red jewels and my big arowana (she just got dog hair on her.. she's fine).

I lost a nice tem who jumped out moving the lid. Get a lid and make sure it's secure.

I bought my kid a Peacock Bass, put it in the tank and went out to dinner. When we got home, it had not only jumped out of the tank, but managed to get through the closed lid. It appeared that the fish chased a Corey and the two were found a couple of feet from the tank. The PBass was dried out, as my kid put it- like a Munchos chip. He thought we could just put it back in the water and rehydrate it.

Mine had plant covering on top, but its probably all the weird, flying insects in my house that cause it to jump out (probably hungry)

would these guys jump for just the sake of jumping like arowanas or jump nif they're spooked

all fish r able to jump out. i wouldnt risk it. ive lost a catfish and a koi. they both jumped out and dried up. dont risk it. i would rather spend a few extra dollars on a hood than lose a fish. also make sure its secure so it doesnt come off it the pbass hits it.
