Hello; Plantabs are useful for root feeders but I suspose some of the nutrients eventually make it into the water. They should be available ib pet stores but I do not recall where I got the last bag.
There are liquid plant fertilizers that are useful for the aquarium plants that take in much of their nutrition from the water.
The fish will contribute nutrients used by plants as a part of the cycling process. Heavy fish stocking density can contribute more than enough nutrients for the plants, so be sparing with adding extra plant nutrients for a time.
The root feeders can often use help and may need something put into the substrate near the roots.
I have grown a lot of nice plants over the years with out using CO2 injections, but that has become popular of late. There are some threads about this on the forum should you want to try it. It should help but is not necessary.
I guess that if you over do the plant tabs there could be issues, but in my sparing use I have not had any issues.
