Do Polypterus enjoy eating guppies?

If you want to feed crayfish just get small ones and pull their claws off. That is what I do for my stingray cause I don't want it to get hurt. Also I had an oscar lose an eye by not taking the claws of a crayfish.
 
Guppies are great food for a bichir. Only problem is, when the bichir gets too large, it will ignore small guppies even when they swim in front of his mouth. A 20" Ornatipinnis will ignore 1 " guppies. But he will go for a 2" within seconds, if he is hungry.

With my experience, most of my bichirs go for feeders suiting their size, because smaller fish swim faster and bichirs are not that quick. Unless they are very hungry, so sometimes they are willing to chase the prey for a bit

It's an albino Senegal. My friend was on the look out for small ones and found this one in Seoul (I live in Daegu). I have to go purchases it next weekend if I decide to take it.

Why one? Because I just want smaller ones to grow with and they all seem to be near fully grown around here. Why? Do they hate being alone? Should I buy another and if so ~ would it matter if the other(s) are twice the size?
 
Hmmm... To be honest. Lately I am thinking about getting a few LEOPARD CTENOPOMA (Ctenopoma acutirostre) instead of the Polypterus. Frankly, I just want something that will hunt my guppies & ghost shrimp. I worry about the one Polypterus bieng lonely.
 
Just by the look of them, I'd say they would eat anything they can fit between their jaws.
 
Young guppies are really fast. before those long tails grow in, they can race around and hide real easy.
