Are they known for jumping out of aquariums? As i may need to move my Sen. soon as he is getting beaten up, and the other aquarium does not have a lid on it, just a light fixture that goes all the way acroos but does not fully cover.
So would they jump out? or is it not likely?

I was just thinking about the same question. What if you lower the water level in the aquarium, would that prevent escapes if there were gaps in the lid, or a lidless aquarium?

They are one of the notorious tank jumpers, so I would cover up.

Full covered and secured lid needed, or else you'll have a dead bichir eventually.

Are bichirs jumpers? Are they escape artists?

As most of the previous posts have stated, yes they are.

This poor guy was in my 10 gal quarentine tank. Full cover except a 3/4 gap around the filter, guess where I found him one morning.

butbot sorry to see the loss, that was a really cool endli too. 7 stripes, and some even looked like '7' shape.

If nothing else tells you, the fact that they can breathe air ought to do it. Mine never has, at least not while I was watching, but the tank is sealed anyway, the other occupants are notorious jumpers, too.

Lol, ok when i get home in a few hours ill cover it up until i can buy a cover for this aquarium, as when a friend gave it too me it had no lid, as i had to put my lil Poly in it. Thank you all for answering :D
