Do rays beg for food?

My guy is sorta indifferent to me. I was wondering if him swimming up and down the front was his way of saying feed me or not? I've only had him since Saturday but he's settling in nicely and feeding on live nightcrawlers

I don't know much about the actual meaning why rays swim up the glass? Maybe there just bored or maybe it's a way to entertain themselves or us? My female love's doing it and she is so cool looking when she glides back down to the floor:naughty:!
Just give your ray some time. There very smart and they can recognize the hand that feed's them!

my marbles begged when i had them if i did not feed my large female she would get angry and attack the glass.
but my new pup is always looking for food and keeps attacking a small piece of bogwood but i have to feed it with a long clear tube to stop my dats getting it and as soon as it hits the water he knows what it is and jumps on it waiting for his food.

I have about a dozen golfball to baseball sized smooth river rocks in the tank with my rays (with a nice amount of smooth sand as well) and my rays actually move the rocks to the front of the tank and constantly toss them against the acrylic when they get hungry (or maybe for entertainment too). They will do this if I am around or not. When they see me, they just pile up and beg against the front of the tank like dogs. Someday I will take some videos of this, it just blew me away how they move the rocks around and toss them against the side.
