Fading/peeling is a hybrid crap term....sorry I had to, so to answer your question Cyanoguttatus or carpintis do not unless they are hybrids, both fish I would be weary buying from a lfs and expect either species...

I answered his question already and fading is not a hybrid term... It's an amphilophus term. I agree about buying from an lfs because they can look pure and still be hybrid as Onefowl1 mentioned earlier.

Really? So what do you call the process on Midas or Red Devils to name just two non hybrid species that do it?

+1 to buying carpintis or cyanoguttatus from just any lfs especially the box stores and being weary of the quality or purity. That is why there are posts on this site and others about the quality of product/fish of vendors and stores some of us have done business with.
