I suppose so? I like to blast my fish out of the water...it's all preference.

Well I just bought 2 of the 1200gph ones new on ebay for half of what they were asking on that website hehehe

That's where I get all mine from :-) Good ole' Ebay. There's a seller called NewWave that I get them from. I've got a 1200 gph on my 8' tank (an Oscar). You can feel it pushing water up to 1/2 way down the tank (4'). So even one should be more than enough for a 6' tank. I've got 850 gph ones in my 6' tanks and they push the water 3'. You'll also have water movement from your filters so you should be in great shape.

The way Koralia's are designed they make a huge 360 degree soft wave of water, so even where you can't feel the water being pushed - the fish will.

If you get the spare cash I would really recommend the Magnum's, mine is top notch - short of a TUNZE it's the best powerhead I've ever owned. Although there are plenty of high priced ones out there for salt water tanks that probably blow it away.

The impellars on most powerheads are only rated at about a year. Many last much, much longer with regular maintenance. The impellars are easily replaceable for most brands.

Does that go for most air pumps too? That they are only rated to work at 100% for so long?

Ok thats good to know, should I place one at each end of the tank or might it be a good idea to put one at the Back of the tank facing foward so the current will hit the front glass and go both ways?

Yeah Id like to get the magnums but money is always a concern. In a perfect world I could get a super charger for my Stang too but too bad for me it isnt a perfect world hehehe Thanx for the advice on the new powerheads!

I've got mine at one end about 6-8" off the bottom almost to the front pane of glass and pointed sort of upwards to pull the water from the bottom at those ends and shoot it in the direction (the other end) of the Fluval intake. I've also got 2 AquaClear 110's that are 500 gph on the 6' & 8' tanks so there's plenty of water movement. I've got sand for substrate, I have to angle the powerhead just right so it doesn't blow the sand off the bottom.

I wasn't a huge fan of the korailas b/c of the magnets that hold it in place. I put one on a 180 in the store and it held but it didn't seem to hold very well. BUT they also have the suction cup on them and with the suction and the magnet They don't hold to bad. I would just be afraid of one of my fish knocking it into the bottom of the tank. I know they beat but my powerheads pretty bad.

Well I cant wait to get them! Now I just have to find an air pump that will not wear out after a year and a half.
