Yep. It does happen as they have similar color patterns.

I had tiger barbs with loaches before, I never had a problem, despite what people think. Too many people are scared to try fish out with others. I was also told not to put my Betta in with my Silver Dollars, but they lived happily together until the Betta died like 2 years later.

I had a school of 40 Tiger Barbs with 3 clown loaches. They were very happy together, schooled together, and everything.

If you do get TB's, make sure you have at least 6, for they won't nip others as much. They more you have, (usually) they are more than likely to "play" with each other and not torment others.

Yea Im not looking to get a small group. If I go into this tiger barb project I will gradually add 10 at a time until I get 40 or so

Their shape suggests tiger barbs are not designed for high current. My tiger barbs seemed stressed by the high current in my 75g. There was plenty of PVC caves and rockwork, but they never sought shelter there. It was a 75g with 2x xP2, 2x Penguin 350, 2x Koralia 4, 2x Koralia 1 and a Magdrive sump return operating at about 600gph.
