Menifee, socal
I was looking for something different to feed my fish the other day and came across some sweetcorn and was wondering if it would be ok to feed to my fish.

not sure but one day i was curious and tried it because my mom had some next to some market prawns. i tosses some in and i remember my aros rejected it and my tsn's belly bloated up for a few days then saw it spit out the corn. i dont think the digest the corn the same way we dont.

what fish are u wanting to feed?

perhaps it aint a good idea...it'd be hard to digest bro, even humans are having a hard time digesting corn. it is full of fibers.

MAYBE an herbivorous fish may be able to digest it, as their stomaches should be accustomed to breaking down fibers and cellulose (i think thats what it is) that the corn contains.

i also dont have any evidence either way, so the only way may be trial and error, however your fish may suffer with this method if they cant digest it.

Don't do it, I have heard it can kill some fish as they can't digest it and they are unable to pass it out.

Not worth the risk, use something else.

A corn kernel is composed of alot of indigestible material, not to mention alot of sugar. Not worth trying IMO. There are better choices.

A lot of fish can't digest corns. It's dangerous for them, in California. Corn is illegal to be used as bait for trout fishing because it will kill them. Corn is too rough for fish stomach acid to digest...dangerous move.
