thanks guys, i too remove my driftwood to clean it becuz i cant bare to see tht poop collected under it, especially the driftwood in my oscar's tank. gosshh, they poop a lot ehh. lol

+1
My plecos make a ton of waste so I do this every other week. There is usually a nice turd cloud collected from base. I had to choose pieces without small crevices to keep things easy. No accidental removal of plecos from tank. Lost a small scarlet that way. Pricey mistake.

I move them around some but I dont take them out.
same just move it out of the way. yes allot collects there. I tend to keep a minimalist style tanks, not a big issue to move things out of the way.

hey guys, u use sand substrate right? seems like my sand are getting less every week becuz it is vacuumed along with the poop. lol i use tht spiral technique but it doesnt seem to work.

I have a large pile of driftwood that my loaches inhabit and will cram themselves into. I usually drain part of the water and then take the hose and have it blow under the wood. Once a week. WoW can't belive what comes out, then I resume the cleaning. The substrate in my tank is sand, so everything sits on top. When I have lifted the wood in the past it never failed that there was always at least one loach who tried the Freeeeedom escape.

i mix my sand with gravel. i put very little sand in the tank so it is a bit difficult for me to clean. wait, u literally blow the poop out the driftwood? o.o
lol i hate the part when u move the poop a little and it scattered and flew all over the place . -_-
