my nitrate levels stay non-existent. i perform regular water changes that obviously cotribute to that but dont plants and some algaes help keep nitrate levels low?

yep a tank heavly planted will keep the nitrates in check but we're talking a hundred plants pr 50 gallons it works been there done that but planted tanks have their own problems so i've stripped mine out
and might even be going bare bottom...
