I have nothing beneficial to say to this thread but i enjoyed reading it lol. I feel like I've just learned a life lesson.
A situation similar to this happened to me last year and i chose to do nothing for the sake of being the better person and because i want to be able to look at myself in the mirror and see a decent human being looking back to me. This really strengthens my resolves and it makes me feel relieved about my decision.

I am a very very vengeful ******* but in ur instance id do nothing. People say "take the highroad, blah blah blah". Forget that. You screw me, if I get the chance Ill return the favor. But sleepin with someone else's gf crosses a line that I would not do. Thats low imo.


Of course im trying my best to get over my vengeful side because of all thats been going on in my life, so take it for what its worth.
 
^ i can be like that too, but only when someone messes with my family, friends or my money....

Otherwise, i definitely try and take the high road...

It is not a take the highroad blah blah issue.

It is a question of values, imho, of the place one wants to be in life and of how well and balanced one is with oneself.

The Op's issue deals with matters of the heart, of treason and revenge within that framework. And in taht framework, revenge should have no place. ( as opposed to other situations, alteady mentioned by other guys )

The mere fact of contemplating revenge shows that the girl still matters for him. And he also matters for the girl... It is strange, but that is how the heart works.

Harder to put a leash on its whims than on a whole pack of big game dogs.:)

That's the biggest part right there. The need for revenge says she still means something to you. If she still means something, she still has control of your life.

You don't actually have to do anything direct, all you need to do is plant that seed and let it grow on it's own. That way you won't have to feel guilty about anything yet know that you set in motion a chain of events that can't be stopped.
 
Moving on and having a happy life is the best revenge you can have.
