I applaud you sir. another one who gets it

anyways, not really a boycott but I refuse to use face wash and body wash for men. no such thing as face wash and body wash for men
So cleanliness is only a female thing? I don't get the whole male refusal of cosmetics etc... as if it were effeminate, and as if effeminate things will somehow make their male parts shrivel off and die.

I didn't say I boycott cleanliness

just body wash "for men"

no such thing

it's a women's product used to get men more feminine and I refuse to use it

Wow. Firstly, you may not realize it, but that came off as pretty sexist. Theres nothing wrong with men engaging in things that our society has decided are feminine. You just asserted that femininity is bad basically, and that men should avoid anything even remotely effeminate. Secondly, why cant bodywash be for men? Soap isn't good for your entire body, and specialized products are useful. I just don't understand your decision that something as arbitrary as bodywash is emasculating. Oh, and if your masculinity is so fragile that something like bodywash is a threat, I'm sorry bud, but you've got issues bigger than your suds.

Wow, you are reading WAY too much in it.

it would be the same to me if they came up with lipstick for men. some things men just don't do

there is even lingerie for men. there is hope for humanity because lingerie for men isn't taking off anytime soon. would you let your boyfriend/husband wear this? does any woman find this attractive?

It really is a big deal. Its these rigorous but pointless ideas of masculinity and femininity that cause us to demonize behavior that doesn't meet these criteria. WHY is body wash emasculating? Its literally just a gentler soap that's a consistency that allows for easy cleaning and is usually scented (even scented in "masculine" scents like eucalyptus/Old Spice etc..). These standards are harmful to society. Why should men not use body wash? Why should a man not wear lipstick if he chooses? Who is it going to hurt? Nobody. And while I don't find the male lingerie attractive, if my boyfriend wanted to wear it, I wouldn't care. Its my role to support him in what he wants, just as he supports me. This boils down to this semi-misogynistic sentiment, that girl things are bad. Why is it degrading for men to do "effeminate" things? Because our society still holds that women are less than men, and thusly an "effeminate" man is less than a "masculine" man.

that is a broad generalization but, yes, it is bad for men to engage in feminine things,............. generally speaking

I couldn't care less if a man is metrosexual or like to use body wash or are into wearing make up and pee sitting down.

I can only speak for myself
