Do you care where the Donations come from?

perhaps the community council member that decided to put it out there that the club donated did more harm than good. i think because the news got out where the money was coming from, angry parents and angry people complained and it forced the league to give the money back to please those people.

i think if it would've stayed quiet they would've took the money and moved on. hopefully those complaining people donated to the league then

This is what I think happened also. If this is what happened, I think it's understandable. To me to accept the money is practically condoning stripping,....at a little league level, I think that's wrong. It also says what cheap skates the local businesses are, all of this over $1200? I realize times are tough, but for a business I don't get it, who doesn't like to walk into a joint see the establishment supports the local little league team?

^ with all the mums waving their hands in the air complaining they are now corrupting their husbands minds...

So why didn't any other local business step up when this became a big stink and say they would be happy to donate the money? Heck, the strip club could easily enough have taken back the money, given in to the other business through behind the scenes, and everyone would be happy and the business wouldn't even be out anything. I guess raising a stink over it all and bringing in the media is more fun.

If someone was smart they would take advantage of the hype and promote their bizz by donating the cash

this is a difficult thing to think about, world is truely shades of gray, in one hand it's great that these kids get to keep playing and having a good time and grow up active and healthy. at the same time, it becomes a question of does the means justify the ends. these women are basically being exploited even if they are willing dancers and what not so the money is actually coming from something kinda shady. i mean, you talk about it's OK if the kids arnt exposed to it, how could they not at this point? it's headline news. oh well, i've been to strip clubs and they are cool n all but for me it was more of an akward exp than a fun one, i mean 10 dollar soda, oh vey! lol

ummm, i don't understand how you can willingly be exploited.....if a job is beyond you, you go find something else. Sorry, i currently know 2 women who have chosen to work at a local strip club, not something i'd want my wife, girlfriend, fam members doing but i don't at all think my 2 friends are being exploited. simple supply and demand. they've got something someone's willing to pay for and they're choosing to fill the need. no different then athletes being paid multimillion dollars to be able to do something a team owner has a need for.

i don't feel bad at all for the women who choose to work at clubs

they need to pay for college and it pays for college. waitress jobs don't pay for college. not that all club workers go to college

i see and understand your point of view but you just said you woulnt want your wife or gf or anyone in your family to be a stripper so already there is a negative connotation involved with being a stripper and no doubt they are also aware of that same thing.
most strippers have some serious emotional baggage as well, alot of them, maybe not all of them but im sure a good amount are strippers because they are compensating for something that happened early in their life that involves a type of control they have over men when they are stripping, attention, what not, and its prolly not a good idea to encourage that type of behavior to deal with whatever traumatic event happened to them earlier in their life.
