ok awsome now looking at it alot of the viewing can be done through the side of the tank il prolly just leave the back alone but clean ther sides
I dont have my lights on enough for any algae to grow but if I did,I would like that green, wavy, hair type to grow on my back panel.I've seen it in some tanks and it looks really nice.I like looking through the sides for a different view.

I let it grow until I can't stand it anymore and take my credit card to the glass. Since I'm too lazy and can't reach that far most of the back gets left alone

cool ya my lights are on 8 to 10 hours a day its a t5ho fixture for the few plants i have only prob is algae is growin on some of the plants

Personally, I never clean algae. I have Snails in all my tanks except my 30g, which only has soft gray algae that comes off when I do water changes, and my 5.5g, which only has Newts which get no light and eat in a separate container, so...no algae.

Only clean the front, like the more natural look (:

I also only clean the front glass.
But you do need algae to keep shrimp happy, fed and well.

I CLEAN IT ALL BABY

I have a 100g tank and the front and back were covered with algae. I used to scrape it off, but a few days ago, I bought 2 fei fengs (prochilodus) and literally, within 24 hours, they had eaten all the algae. Plus, I like how they look like they're kissing the glass when they're eating algae off it.

Fei fengs are the way to go. Plecos are overrated and not a good looking fish IMO. They don't get at all the algae and leave HUGE lines of poop everywhere. No thanks. Get some fei fengs, believe me.

Right now I clean all the sides except for the very back, because it's the only side that doesn't block the view of the fish.

That hair algea invades my pond every spring, not fun in a large system... :grinno: Maybe I'll see how it looks inside a tank this year.

I clean the front only, anything on the sides I leave for plecos and/or snails
