Do you ever try to use your fish tanks to impress your dates?

This is so funny. I'm married and got the tank after dateing it was his idea too. But I'm a girl and if a guy had a really sweet tank yes I would want to check it out then go home. If they used that as a line I would laugh at what a dork they are. If the guy had a fish room and I was a normal girl I would run. over 10 tanks and you start to look crazy to the nonfish people.

I have 3 tanks and people think I'm crazy.

I'm actually working on hiding all mine but the 125. Something about having this many tanks running makes you look like a bit of a nut. I'm weird enough already and don't need to add to it.

I find talking fish to non fishkeepers tends to bore them. As far as a date goes, I feel aquarium viewing would only be good as a possible line to get her into your apartment for non-fish activities.

I actually think it helps, it can serve as an ice breaker. Most of the girls that have come over may think its wierd, but once they see how much it means to me, they'll ask me questions about "that blue fish there" or that "long one there". Keep in mind i have 5 tanks in my room, so maybe it throws them off, but its good in my opinion, they think you're one way, and bam, you fall into my fishroom/bedroom and suddenly their view changes on you again. I do have to say I have been teased about my numerous fish tanks, but most of the teasing is done by my guy friends. Go figure . But especially when theyre in my room, for something other than fish tanks . It keeps them entertained afterwards, just watching all the fish swimming. I think it makes fishkeepers stand out in our quest to attract the opposite sex, and that much more appealing. It has come through many a times and never ceases to disappoint my female company.

I mean, if your classy. Bottle of merlot and candlelight dinner beside a big elegant tank. Dont come off as a fish weirdo, but its always something to talk about when you run out of things to say haha. Aqariums and fish are very relaxing and easing to watch. I say it couldnt hurt. Just dont have 10 tanks spread around your house haha

You think so? I mention to every girl I go out with that I have fish and then when they finally see my fish, they think it's cool. IMO, If the girl likes you enough to go on a date, she'll think you're cool even if you have a huge fish collection.

+1...I have had some girls make fun of it, but if your tanks are truely impressive its pretty hard for anyone to not like them. I have a 75g reef lined up with the end of my bed so you can sit and bed and watch it. VURY NICE!

Dang... where can I meet girls like that???
